The BOTOX® New Jersey Treatment

A BOTOX® treatment typically takes approximately 10 minutes. It is not necessary to anesthetize the area to be treated due to minimal discomfort, although we do use a topical anesthetic to reduce any discomfort associated with the procedure. BOTOX® is injected into the area affected by visible lines with a very thin needle. The BOTOX® causes the muscles initiating the lines and wrinkles to relax which reduces the appearance of undesirable wrinkles and lines on the skin. The skin's reaction to the muscles is what commonly causes wrinkles. The results of the BOTOX® treatment may be seen in as little as 10 days following treatment. Results will last from 3 to 4 months before they begin to gradually fade away. Your next treatment should be scheduled before the effects completely fade away.

The New Alternative to Botox®

Dysport is the new competitor to Botox® and is made by Medicis, the same company that brings you Restylane® and Perlane®

Dysport® injections are FDA approved, have been used in Europe for years and have been used in over 2 million treatments worldwide in 27 countries. Dysport® was evaluated for safety and efficacy in robust clinical studies which included approximately 3,000 patients and 10,000 injections at more than 80 clinical study sites in the U.S.

Dysport® is considered the 'next generation' wrinkle remover and is simple, effective and non-surgical, just like Botox®. Working similar to Botox® to reduce frown lines and wrinkles, Dysport® injections relax the facial muscles on the forehead. Like Botox®, Dysport® (formerly known as Reloxin) is also made from botulinim toxin (type A) and is administered in the same way as Botox®. However with Dysport® injections, patients may find that their results last longer than the average 3 months from Botox®, therefore needing fewer treatments per year and overtime saving on cost.
