What is Selphyl™?

Selphyl™ is a patented system that helps your blood produce a Platelet Rich Fibrin Matrix (PRFM) quickly and effectively. A proven technology for correcting aging skin, PRFM promotes the rejuvenation of skin through targeted tissue regeneration. Here's how it works:

Taking a small amount of blood from the patient, Dr. Roche puts the blood through the Selphyl™ patented three-step process. This separates and concentrates the blood's own platelets and fibrin into the PRFM.	Dr. Roche then injects the PRFM into the treatment area on the patient's face or body, prompting the skin to stimulate cell growth. Selphyl™ Results

Selphyl™ Reactions

Common reactions, such as mild irritation, edema, bruising, swelling, itching, discoloration or tenderness may occur at the injection site. These temporary conditions typically resolve themselves within one to two days and are similar side effects as with any other injectable.

Since SELPHYL™ uses your own blood and does not contain any animal or synthetic components, there is virtually no risk of an allergic reaction and there have been no reported allergic reactions to date. Consequently, skin allergy testing is unnecessary prior to treatment. However, if you have a history of allergies please inform Dr. Roche.

Who Should Avoid Selphyl™

Patients of all ethnicities are candidates for Selphyl™ treatment, but the Selphyl™ system should not be used on anyone dealing with blood clotting issues or those who are presently on blood thinning medications.

Patients on herbal treatments, vitamins and over the counter medications which affect the platelets such as aspirin and NSAID (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) should wait until they have discontinued these treatments for two weeks before receiving Selphyl™. Patients with infections should wait until infections have been treated and are completely resolved before receiving Selphyl™.
