Natural Rosacea Treatment for Sensitive Skin

Treat redness and inflammation with natural rosacea remedies

Rosacea sufferers can eliminate that flushed, red appearance with our private label skin care product line and our Equelage private label in office treatment at The Elizabeth Roche MD Med Spa.

A Natural Solution for Rocacea & Sensitive Skin

A two-step approach involving an easy skin care regimen that calms the inflammation and redness common to the condition is the at home component of the treatment. Using naturally-derived ingredients which soothes and calms facial inflammation is the first step to leaving your skin tone even and clear. In office light therapy and a gentle customizable “peels” are the second steps to beautiful skin.

The Simple At Home Regimen

Begin with our Calming Cleanser which is a foamy extra gentle cleanser that contains Evodiox, a powerful redness-reducing agent derived from the Chinese Evodia rutaecarpa plant.

The second product is our Clarifying Hydrator which is designed to restore the normal barrier function for sensitive, combination and blemish-prone rosacea skin. This anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial peptide moisturizer gently hydrates your sensitive skin, is 100% oil free, fragrance free and paraben free, and non-comedogenic.

Applying sun screen to protect from the environmental elements each day is an important part of reducing skin sensitivity. We recommend our Solar Eclipse Sheer for a light, purely physical defense from the sun.

In the evening cleanse again with the Calming Cleanser to rid your skin from the impurities it has accumulated throughout the day. Follow with our Sustenance serum to provide the nutrients your skin needs while it is resting at night. This serum contains Vitamins C and E along with Ferulic acid which enhances the vitamins’ activities.  To restore the normal barrier function for combination and blemish-prone rosacea skin, Clarify Hydrator applied at night is an anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial peptide moisturizer will gently hydrates your sensitive skin.

In Office Procedures

To excel the results of the home regimen, we recommend our Equelage peel.

Another in office treatment with amazing results are a series of our Photofacials. Photofacials, also known as IPL or BBL treatments, are intense-pulse or broad-band of light-waves which target small capillaries and vessels and reduce the appearance of vessels on the skin surface. Usually a series of 3 to 6 of these treatments are necessary for optimum results. There is little, if any, down time, just mild flushed appearance from the heat of the procedure which resolves in 30 to 60 minutes.

What is Rosacea?

Rosacea is a chronic skin condition involving inflammation of the cheeks, nose, chin, forehead, or eyelids. It may appear as redness, prominent spider-like blood vessels, swelling, or skin eruptions similar to acne.

Who suffers from Rosacea?

Although the cause of rosacea is unknown, you are more likely to develop this harmless skin condition if:

  • you are fair skinned
  • you blush easily
  • you are a woman (however, men are usually more severely affected)
  • you are between the ages of 30 and 50

Symptoms of Rosacea

Rosacea is different for each individual, but some common rosacea symptoms include:

  • Redness of the face in discrete areas or covering the entire face
  • A tendency to flush or blush easily
  • Increased vascularity (spider-like blood vessels called telangiectasia) of the face
  • A red, “rhinophyma” bulbous nose
  • Acne-like skin eruptions which may ooze or crust
  • A burning or stinging sensation of the face
  • Irritated, bloodshot and watery eyes

Triggers of Rosacea

Certain behaviors and environmental factors can worsen rosacea symptoms. Avoiding these triggers can help to lessen the symptoms:

  • sun exposure
  • spicy food
  • alcohol and caffeine
  • extreme cold weather
  • stress
