Reduce Facial Blemishes with Laser Acne Treatments

Having recurring facial acne can be troublesome, especially when you enter adulthood. Not only can acne cause deep scarring, but frequent acne breakouts can affect your self-esteem and impact your relationships and career opportunities. If you have tried different kinds of medication and lifestyle changes to reduce your acne with little to no results, you may benefit from a special kind of laser therapy designed to reduce the severity of your acne and the number of acne breakouts you experience.

How Does Forever Clear BBL Work?

Sciton’s Forever Clear Broad Band Light (BBL) uses a two-step process to clarify the skin without oral or topical medication. Forever Clear BBL uses the most powerful form of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), which penetrates your skin to reach the source of acne. It works to stimulate skin cell regeneration, which means damaged, acne-prone skin is replaced with new skin cells. As a result, your skin can become clearer and healthier looking after repeated treatments.

What to Expect During Your Laser Acne Treatment

When you visit the Elizabeth Roche, MD MedSpa for your laser acne treatment, we welcome you into our comfortable, spa-like setting. I’ll meet with you to discuss your aesthetic goals and together, we’ll decide on the best combination of treatments to achieve the look and feel you want.
During the first step of your laser acne treatment, we will apply a numbing cream to your skin to help make you more comfortable during the treatment process. A blue BBL light will be used on your skin, which will penetrate deep into the different layers of your skin to kill any bacteria hiding in the bottoms of your pores. Then, a yellow BBL light will be used to control any inflammation and redness from acne to help make your skin look brighter and more natural.
This two-step procedure has been shown to deliver the best results when completed in a series of treatments. During your consultation with me, I’ll review your medical history and what you’d like to achieve with treatment to determine how many treatments you are likely to need.

Add a Skin Tyte Procedure

I often recommend that my clients add a Skin Tyte treatment following their laser acne treatment. Skin Tyte uses a gentle infra-red light to send fast, precise pulses to heat the tissue deep underneath your skin. This step is designed to stimulate your body’s natural collagen production, which can improve the look of your skin after laser acne treatment and make recovery a little easier.
