What Is Ultherapy?
Ultherapy uses ultrasound skin tightening technology to gently stimulate the body to build and restore lost collagen. Loose, tired-looking skin is toned from within using 100% safe ultrasound therapy to restore the look of youthfulness. Because Ultherapy utilizes the same visualization technology as medical ultrasounds, we can precisely target areas of the skin that will benefit most from the treatment.
The surface of your skin remains undisturbed as we deliver low levels of focused heat at just the right depth below the skin to achieve a more beautiful, refreshed, and youthful look. Many of our patients see visible results the day after treatment, however, the building and restoration of collagen to optimal levels continues for two to three more months. Full results are usually visible at approximately six months after the procedure.
What is Ultherapy Treatment Like?
No special preparation is necessary before a session. Depending on the size of the area being treated, Ultherapy can take as little as 15 minutes (for the area under the eyes) to an hour (for the full face) or up to 2 hours (for the full face and chest). During the session, Dr. Roche places a smooth applicator on your skin that projects an image of the different layers of the epidermis and dermis onto a screen.
The same applicator is then used to deliver low levels of focused heat at just the right depth below the skin. Most patients report little to no discomfort during the procedure, but comfort thresholds can vary. We’ll do everything possible to ensure that your Ultherapy treatment is comfortable and relaxing.
What To Expect After Ultherapy Treatment
Our Ultherapy patients typically end their sessions comfortable and pleased with their results. You can resume your normal activities immediately after your session, but you may experience temporary and mild flushing of the skin, slight swelling, or tenderness. These minor Ultherapy side effects should subside in a few hours or rarely, a day or two.
Ultherapy treatment offers patients noticeable results after the very first session, with ongoing improvement over the next several weeks. Tightening of the skin takes place gradually, giving patients a naturally fresh look and feel without seeming like they’ve had any cosmetic work done.
Is Ultrasound Skin Tightening Safe?
Ultrasound technology has been used medically for over 50 years, and it’s one of the safest diagnostic tools available for a wide variety of health conditions. Prior to its approval for cosmetic use, Ultherapy underwent numerous clinical trials before coming to market to demonstrate its safety in this application. Ultherapy risks are extremely low and very few patients have undesirable results.
Does Ultherapy Work? Ultherapy Results
Collagen regeneration begins immediately after only one session, but optimal results will be visible in three to six months. Many patients benefit from more than one Ultherapy treatment.
How Long Does Ultherapy Last?
For most patients, Ultherapy results last approximately two years. However we continually age, so you will want to maintain your investment and have a booster treatment at the one year mark before your results start to diminish.
