Lend Me Your Ears to hear about Earlobe Repair!

Do you have this tell-tale sign of aging?

You eat right, exercise, use sunscreen, and regularly visit Dr. Elizabeth Roche and her team of anti-aging experts for the latest advancements in aesthetic medicine. Then one day, you find yourself hesitating to put your hair up or to put on those fun earrings to wear with your favorite outfit because you notice that your earlobes have drooped, look flat, and frankly, look old.

When we think of anti-aging treatments, we think of our face and neck. Often the ears are not even thought about, until that special occasion arises. Ears are no different than any other area of the face. Over time, the use of mid- to heavyweight earrings eventually breaks down the elasticity which, along with the natural aging process, leaves you with thin, droopy ear lobes.

The good news is that you don’t have to live with those two little tell-tale signs of aging! There’s a non-surgical method to correct this sign of aging: dermal fillers.

Dr. Roche uses Restylane®, Juvederm®, Perlane®, and Sculptra® to smooth facial lines and plump up volume loss, and she also uses these dermal fillers to correct thin, droopy ear lobes.

After applying a topical numbing cream to make the procedure virtually pain- free, Dr. Roche will artfully plump up and lift the earlobe with these fillers. The entire process takes less than an hour. Results are instant and can last up to a year or more. The transformation is amazing and our patients report they look younger and are thrilled to finally pull their hair back in a pony tail, or toss it up in an up-do, while showing off earrings they haven’t worn in years.

This treatment isn’t just for the ladies. Gentlemen who may have worn earrings when it was trendy to do so in the 1980s and 1990s may find that, although they haven’t worn earrings in years, their earlobes have drooped and thinned, too. Because men tend to wear their hair short, sagging earlobes can be both unsightly and embarrassing, visible to all. Earlobe injections are an easy, quick, and long-lasting solution.

Earlobe injections are a far different treatment than torn earlobe repair. Earlobe repair is necessary when the ear piercing hole has stretched all the way to the base of the lobe, separating it into two flaps of skin, or created an overly enlarged hole to accommodate gauge-type earrings. Earlobe repair is a surgical procedure, requiring use of a scalpel and sutures, to re-create the appearance of a normal earlobe.

Dr. Roche estimates that most 55+ female celebrities have earlobe injections, particularly in preparation for an acting role in which they play a younger woman, or before a red-carpet event in which they’re wearing heavy pieces from luxury Hollywood jewelers like Harry Winston. It’s a must-have treatment to pair with facial “lifting” therapies such as Ulthera or Sculptra Aesthetic. The trick to believable anti-aging cosmetic medicine, Dr. Roche points out, is to lend a refreshed appearance to the entire head and neck area – including the ears. Flat, drooping earlobes are an instant age giveaway, especially in contrast to a firm and smooth face and neck.

With Mother’s Day, graduations, class reunions, and weddings just around the corner, you’ll likely want to wear your hair up and your most precious earrings for these special occasions. Now is the perfect time to speak with Dr. Roche and her staff about how earlobe rejuvenation can add the perfect finishing touch to your total beauty routine.
